I’ve had very few encounters with coyotes, but each one has felt magical. These elusive mammals prefer to stay hidden, even when living close to humans. Most of the time, if they catch a glimpse or even a whiff of me, they vanish in an instant. This Coyote, however, was different and instead of fleeing, it approached. It stepped into the open of a dried up pond slowly moving before finally disappearing around a bend.
